1. Identify the cause of the stain
It is important to know what caused the stain and what type of stain it is before attempting to remove it. Different stains require different treatments.
2. Act accordingly
Despite the stain on your clothes, don't try to take the stain on your own. Usualy, when the laundry receive an item that the person couldn't take the stain out at home, sometimes it's worse or the item is even damaged. Once you know you can use water on the item and that you are using the right product, you can try to remove yourself.
3. Moisten, don't rub
When removing a stain, it is important to moisten it with water using a clean cloth. Rubbing can make the stain worse by spreading it.
4. Choose the right cleaning
Depending on the type of stain, you may need a specific cleaning.For example:
Oil stains - you can use dishwashing detergent or vinegar.
Blood stains - you can use a cloth with cold water and press it on the stain. Do not use hot water, as this can make the stain set in even more. Then apply hydrogen peroxide and gently rub the stain. Finally, wash the garment as normal.
Red wine stains - mix a tablespoon of washing powder with a little water to make a paste. Apply the paste to the stain and leave it to act for a few minutes. Then wash the item as normal. If the stain persists, after the garment has dried, apply white wine to the stain and wash again.
Grease stains - put some talcum powder or cornstarch on the stain and let it rest for a few hours. The talcum powder or cornstarch will absorb the grease. Then brush off the talcum powder or cornstarch and wash the item as normal.
5. Test the solution
Before applying any cleaning solution to the stain, test it on an inconspicuous area of the fabric to make sure it does not cause any damage.
6. Wash the garment
After applying the appropriate stain removal treatment, rinse the fabric with warm water if at all possible and wash the garment according to the label instructions. If the stain is still there after washing, repeat the treatment process and the washing until it is completely gone.
By following these steps, you can easily remove stains and keep your clothes looking clean, beautiful and new.
